Four African regulators publish their register. The companies you licensed are invisible to the buyer.

A European exporter looking for a partner in your market has no way to see which companies hold a registration with you. So they deal with whoever answers first — registered or not. Where an authority publishes its register we read it, name that authority on every record and link back to its own publication. Where it does not, we would like to talk about that, and this page is mostly written for you.

The four that publish, and how we cite them

These four authorities publish their register themselves. We did not ask permission and did not need to — but each one is named, dated and linked back on every record drawn from it, and any of them can have a record corrected or withdrawn by writing to us.

◆ What inclusion means

Four things it gives you

Your institution named on every record: Each company we publish from your register carries your name, a link to your own publication, and the date we retrieved it. A foreign supplier researching your market sees who licensed the company before they see anything else.
Trade is channelled to licensed operators: European exporters looking for a partner are pointed at companies that hold a current registration with you, rather than at whoever answered first at a trade fair. Registration becomes the route into your market.
A commercial reason to register properly: Companies that registered are findable by foreign suppliers. Companies that did not, are not. That is a visible incentive to comply, at no cost to your administration.
You decide what appears, and what comes down: Where a register is public we publish only what that publication itself contains. Where an authority sends us data instead, we publish only what it permits. Either way, tell us a record is wrong, out of date or should be withdrawn, and we correct it and note when we did.

Your register already exists. We are asking to point at it, not to hold it.

Two ways in, and you pick

If your register is already published we need nothing from you, though we would still rather you knew. If it is not published, you can publish it yourselves and we will read it like the others, or send us an export directly and we will treat it on whatever terms you set. These are the fields we use either way.

Where customs declaration data is licensed commercially, we would like your terms for the food and drink chapters. We would pay for a licence rather than work around its absence, and we would attribute it the same way.
